Forged by nature, our North Yorkshire gin takes inspiration from the wild, earthy beauty of the North Yorkshire Moors, between Thirsk and Whitby, where we harvest heather and bilberries, when in season. The lovingly prepared mix of botanicals, and the exacting way in which we distil our gins, makes our North Yorkshire Gin a very smooth, flavoursome, ‘fruity’ gin.

An appealingly, rounded and intriguing fruit heavy nose with a highly botanical aroma, and clear notes of heather gives way to a refreshing, bright taste with a pleasing natural sweetness on the palate, with plenty of botanicals jostling away, leading to a smooth, bitter finish and distinct character.

Juniper, Coriander Seeds, Bitter Orange Peel, Grapefruit Peel, Kafir Lime Leaves, Angelica Root, Orris Root, Liquorice, Grains of Paradise, Dandelion Root, Burdock Root, Bilberries, Heather & Thyme.

Serve over ice, with one-part gin and three parts tonic. We recommend a high-quality, plain tonic as we believe the flavour should come from the gin rather than the tonic. Garnish with a slice of grapefruit, a fresh sprig of thyme and a few pink peppercorns.

Table 3: An interesting concept, and one that the judges were keen to try. A highly botanical aroma, with clear notes of heather. A natural-tasting sweetness comes through at the forefront, leading to a smooth, bitter finish. This is a good example of a London Dry Gin, but we feel it requires more adjustment to bring out some depth of flavour. We would love to have been able to pick out the individual strands of the botanicals, especially the heather and bilberry. At present we feel these are lost within the whole.
Table 6: A fruit heavy nose that Judges enjoyed gives way to a refreshing and bright taste, the floral aspects of which were enhanced rather than muted by the addition of tonic. Really quite lovely.
Table 4: The judges really enjoyed the nose; the botanicals are nice and pronounced. On the palate, the flavours are all present but we thought the alcohol was a little harsh on the mid-palate. The finish was good, however, the flavours returning. When tonic is added the botanicals are pronounced and the gin is improved considerably.
Table 1: An appealingly rounded and intriguing nose, with the juniper taking more of a back seat than in some London drys. Pleasing sweetness on the palate, with plenty of botanicals jostling away. We are not certain we discerned heather and bilberries, but the gin did boast a distinct character, while maintaining dry London gin credentials. Compromised a touch by tonic, but but would be fine enough in a fruit cup, or with slivers of citrus and berries in the glass.

Drawing inspiration from the diverse city of Bradford, the hometown of our distiller, this spiced, aromatic gin contains a fine blend of earthy flavours which include cardamom, turmeric, cumin, cubeb and grains of paradise. Carefully sweetened with liquorice (Pontefract Cakes) and cassia bark, this precisely weighed botanical mix, combined with the lovingly accurate way in which we distil our craft gins, makes for a very smooth, flavour-packed ‘spiced’ gin.
