The Aviation Cocktail. 

Classic sour gin cocktails, such as The Aviation Cocktail, are a great way for people to start really enjoying gin, especially those who don’t consider themselves gin fans or those that tend to opt for vodka-based drinks. A strong gin cocktail with a beautiful colour, this is our straightforward method for making it. 
 
Created in New York in the early 1990’s by a bartender by the name of Hugo Ensslin. Some recipes will omit the Crème de Violette which changes the colour and flavour slightly. For an alternative recipe, try replacing the gin and Creme de Violette with our VIE Parma Violet Gin. 
 
Cocktail recipe serves 1. 
The Aviation Cocktail

Ingredients 

25ml of Maraschino Liqueur 
35ml of lemon juice 
12ml of Creme de Violette 
Optional: edible violet as a garnish 

Preparation 

Use a cocktail shaker filled with ice and combine all ingredients. 
Shake well until it’s nice and chilled. 
Strain the cocktail into your glass and garnish with edible violet.
